what happened?

Well this year started well ... and then not more than that! I've tried to write posts several time but all the great ideas I have in my head about stuff to write about sounds so stupid and "what ever" when I put it on paper. Expressing myself on paper/computer isn't my strongest side I've figured.
So here I am.
Haven't quite given up yet but have decided to try with less writing and more pictures - maybe that will work. Wish my luck

A new year has started

Hello new year. Nice to finally meet you. I look forward to see what is going to happen this year. I don't know what you have planned but I have some ideas myself. I have decided to become better at knitting, cooking and baking. At some point I need to learn all these skills and why not do it now that I have the best people to learn from right next to me: my mom and grandmother - what a blessing.

Right before this year started I made cheese cake for the first time in my life and I succeeded. I would say I am up for a good start, hurray

home again ...

I'm back home in beautiful Faroe Islands. I've been here for two weeks and it's bit of a change. I'm back home with my family, together with old friends, without my friends in Norway and without a job.

It's good to be together with my family again. To sit in the evening enjoying a cup of tea in their presence, play cardboard games, going to birthday parties and so on.

Being back together with friends I've known all my life brings a smile to my face. I feel so blessed to be surround by them again; I know that not everyone is that lucky.

Then there are my friends back in Norway - friends that I for sure do miss. People I would work and hang-out with. My YWAM-family. People I'll never forget.

Being without a job, my latest activity has been to write job applications (is that how you say it?) and I think I'm getting better and better. Though I hope I won't have to do it for too long.

So here I am. Starting a new life in familiar surroundings. 

Old Testament in 77 gestures

Some of the things I need to improve in are geografi and history. But you know how there are some things that you just don't get? Or you manage to understand/remember it for a short period of time and then you'll forget it again! That's me when it comes to these two things. Just ask my brother - several times he has shaken his head in dispair cause of my lack of knowledge. It's quite sad actually I would like to be good in it.

But friends - not all hope is lost .. cause a miracle has happen. Are you ready for this? I can hereby tell you that with only using 77 handgestures and words I am able to tell about the main events and people in Old Testament!!! The whole Old Testament!!! It's amazing! No more getting confused over when the exile was - who was first: Assyria or Persia or Babylonia and where the came from - were the judges before or after the prophets?! and so on ..

I was in a class where we in less then 5 hours went through the Old Testament and now I know the history of Israel and I have a map of Israel and surrounding nations in my head. It's incredible.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I know it better than my own country's story! Maybe I should represent this idea of learning to the Faroese school system?! hmm ...

So I've decided to start blogging. Therefore the title: good luck to me! I do like to write, so hopefully this will work out ... and be interesting for more people than myself haha!
